Gisseskalle

Viewpoint near Storebro

The 234 meter high hill Gisseskalle is located near Storebro, about 17 kilometers south of Vimmerby and offers a fantastic and wide view over forests and lakes.

The marked path, which leads from the small parking space at the edge of the hamlet Kvavshult into the forest and up to the Gisseskalle, is only about 500 meters long, but at the end in some places a bit difficult and steep. The effort will be rewarded by a fantastic view, which extends all the way to Vimmerby and on clear days far beyond.

Apart from low vegetation and some trees at the edges, the hilltop consists of an irregular rock plateau, smoothed by glaciers. There are no benches up there, but in summer when the rocks warmed by the sun, they provide ample opportunities to sit down for a picnic and enjoy the beautiful view in heavenly tranquility a little longer.
