Diö Badplats

Bathing beach at the lake Möckeln in Diö

The bathing beach Diö Badplats with a separate dog beach is located on the west side of the large lake Möckeln in the village Diö in the northern half of the municipality Älmhult.

Diö Badplats consists of an approximately 50 meter long and 10 meter wide sandy beach with an adjoining sunbathing lawn. The beach is facing west and is in full sunshine from late morning until sunset. If necessary, however, you can still find shady spots, as the lawn reaches under the large trees of the adjacent beech forest.

In addition to the obligatory bathing bridge, which leads 50 metres out into the lake, the equipment of the bathing spot consists of a changing room, toilet, tables with benches, fixed barbecue area and a field for beach volleyball. The beach is also recommended as a resting place for canoeists who cross the lake Möckeln on their journey across the river Helge.

Demarcated by a large elongated pile of stones, there is an additional small beach at the southern end of the bathing spot, which is also open to dogs.

The parking place for the bathing place is located about 250 meters away within the forest and guarantees a shady parking place in summer. From there, a wide and well-maintained path winds down to the bathing beach through the high beech forest, which is incidentally one of the most northerly of its kind in Sweden.
