Lunds Kommun

Cultural center in Skåne

Lunds Kommun, named after its main town, the medieval bishop's and university town Lund, is located in the south-west of the province Skåne Län, about 20 kilometers east of Malmö.

The landscape in the western part of the municipality of Lund is mostly flat and dominated by wide arable land. In the east and southeast, however, the landscape is characterized by gentle hills. The few forest areas of the region are, for example, the Dalby Söderskog Nationalpark and the adjacent nature reserves Dalby Norreskog and Skrylle.

The municipality of Lund consists of 9 places with more than 200 inhabitants. The city of Lund is by far the largest place in the municipality with around 83,000 inhabitants. The second largest town is Södra Sandby with only about 6,200 inhabitants, followed by Dalby with around 5,700 and Veberöd with about 4,100 inhabitants.
