Beach near Uttervik
The sandy beach Västra Koviks Badplats is located about two kilometers east of the summer cottage area Uttervik on the predominantly rocky coast in the southeast of the municipality Nyköpings Kommun.
Västra Koviks Badplats is located in the bay Koviken and consists of a natural sandy beach of about 50 meters length with a gently sloping shore and a small grass area with some trees in the background. The bay opens to the southeast and the beach is under full sunlight until the early afternoon. Afterwards the trees of the forest on the west side of the bathing area cast their increasing shadows over a part of the beach.
The beach offers a wide view of the open Baltic Sea and of occasionally passing ships on their way in or out of Bråviken, the approximately 50 kilometer long fjord-like bay, with the old industrial city of Norrköping at the end.
