Kosta Boda Art Gallery

Glass art gallery in Kosta

Kosta Boda Art Gallery is the art hall of the famous glassworks Kosta Glasbruk. It is located on the same site near the small town Kosta in Småland and presents glass art on a world-class level.

The centerpiece of the Kosta Boda Art Gallery is the Bruno Mathsson Hall, which was designed in the 1950s by Bruno Mathsson, who was mainly known as a furniture designer. The walls of the hall consist almost entirely of windows, while the floor is covered with glass mosaic stones from the glassworks.

Unique pieces of Swedish glass art are presented in the hall and the annexed buildings. Draped singly or in groups on pedestals or hanging on the walls. There can be found the fascinating shapes and colors of artistic fantasies of the most famous glass artists solidified in glass in the gallery .

The exhibition program of the gallery changes regularly and special exhibitions also show larger collections of an individual artist. Since the Kosta Boda Art Gallery is a gallery and not a museum, the glass art is usually also for sale.
