Brukshusen

Local history museum in Bromölla

Brukshusen is the residue of a settlement of former factory houses in the center of Bromölla, which was built for the workers of the Ivö factory in the years 1905 until 1907.

The settlement Brukshusen consisted of up to 30 houses and was a main characteristic of Bromölla, like the dinosaurs sculpture Scanisaurus at the marketplace is today.

Today, there are only eight of these little houses left. The heritage association Ivetofta created a museum in one of the houses which shows the apartment of a worker from the turn of the century. The museum of an old village shop is located in another house.
