Gamla Vattentornet

Old water tower in Trelleborg

Gamla Vattentornet, the ancient water tower, is the most visible landmark of Trelleborg and with a total height of 58 meters the tallest building in the city.

The old water tower stands at the edge of the [link=4-120]city park[/ link] in the city center of Trelleborg. It was built in 1911 according to plans by the Stockholm architect Ivar Tenbom and was in operation until 1971.

Although the tower is described as a beautiful viewing platform, it is not accessible to the public. At the foot of the old tower there is the café Vattentornet. It is located in a round glass pavilion with a beautiful view of the city park.
