Valhall

Lookout in Olofström

Valhall is a high cliff with an ancient legend and a popular lookout at lake Orlunden, about 6 kilometers east of Olofström.

There is a wonderful view over the lake and the surrounding countryside from the 40 meter high cliff at the lakeshore. The parking lot is at the same level just a few meters away and you reach the top of Valhall without climbing.

On the top is a simple picnic area, where you can enjoy the beautiful view and the quietness of the surrounding nature.

The name Valhall goes back to an old legend from pre-Christian times. According to this legend, the old and infirm were thrown into the abyss.
