UFO-Monumentet

UFO monument in Ängelholm

The UFO monument at a forest clearing outside of Ängelholm is the scaled-down replica of an alien spaceship that should made an emergency landing at this point in the year 1946.

If you follow the sign Fågelreservat/UFO from the parking lot of the bathing beach Sibirien, it is a 400-meter walk through the forest to a small clearing where you can find the supposed landing site of the spaceship.

The UFO monument consists of a 3-ton concrete model of a flying saucer. Around the model are large concrete circles, which should mark the actual dimensions of the landing tracks.

History

It is late evening of May 18th 1946 when the 28 year old railway worker Gösta Carlsson percieved a bright ray of light on his way home through the forest. Following the light, he saw an alien spaceship whose crew was busy with repairs.

A short time later Gösta Carlsson quit his job at the Swedish Railway and founded the company Cernelle. With the production of natural medical products from bee pollen he became a multi-millionaire and famous in Sweden under the nickname Pollenkonung (Pollen King). In the 1960s, Gösta Carlsson was additionally famous for financing the Hockey Club Rögle BK which reached the top league in a relatively short time.

By the way, he claimed that he got the recipe for the medical products from the alien visitors he met in 1946 in the forest. The UFO monument was built in 1972, according to his information as an eye-witness.
