Stenbacka Museum

Local history museum in Karlshamn

The small local history museum Stenbacka Museum is located on the farm Stenbacka in Karlshamns district Asarum, about 4 kilometers north of the city center.

Stenbacka Museum is located in the former cow shed. The building is owned by the city. The members of the local history society have created the museum through volunteer work in 1974.

The building itself was built around 1850 and is a good example of old construction art. Because the residential home of the yard is privately owned, they created a small dwelling of the 19th century with several furnishings in the former cow shed. The collection of the museum include a large amount of items, including machinery and tools from the household as well as from agriculture and forestry.
